Parking at Vienna International Airport (VIE)

Vienna keeps all of its parking close to the connected terminal complex of Terminals 1, 2 and 3, from covered garages a minute from the door to cheaper long-term lots reached by a free shuttle. In total there are more than 10,000 spaces across the multi-storey garages and the open-air long-term car parks, plus a short-term forecourt and a Kiss & Fly zone for quick drop-offs. Every car park has lifts, marked walking routes and live departure and arrival screens, so you can check your flight before you even leave the car. The walk-up prices below are current for 2026; the official Vienna Airport price list is the binding source, and booking online is cheaper.

Terminal & Long-Term Car Parks

• Garage 3 (Terminal Parking): covered garage directly at the terminal complex, only a short covered walk from Check-in 3. Includes video surveillance, accessible bays and EV charging points.
• Garage 4 (Comfort Parking): covered garage a couple of minutes from the terminals; a comfortable mid-range choice with lifts straight to the walkways.
• Garage 8 (Economy Parking): covered economy garage a short walk or shuttle from the terminals, noticeably cheaper than the terminal-side garages.
• Parking C (Long-Term Parking): large open-air car park with a free 24/7 shuttle bus to the terminals; video-surveilled and popular for stays of a week or more.
• Parking D (Long-Term Parking): the budget long-term option, also served by the free shuttle, with the lowest daily rate at the airport.
• Valet Parking: drop your car at the terminal forecourt and let airport staff park it for you – the quickest choice for last-minute departures.
• EV charging: charging points for electric vehicles are available in the terminal garages.
• Short-term / Kiss & Fly: drop-off and pick-up zones directly in front of the terminals. The first few minutes are free.

Choosing where to park

The trade-off at VIE is the familiar one: the closer you park, the more you pay. To roll your bags straight into the terminals, the covered Garage 3 sits right at the terminal complex, with Garage 4 only a couple of minutes’ walk and costing a little less. The economy Garage 8 is a short walk or shuttle further out and cheaper again, which makes it the sensible middle choice for most travellers.

Going away for longer, or just watching the budget? The open-air long-term car parks get cheaper the further out they sit. Parking C and Parking D are the lowest at around 18 euro a day, but they lie a short distance from the terminals, so leave time for the free 24/7 shuttle bus. Whichever you choose, reserving a space online in advance almost always beats the walk-up rate and guarantees you get in, though you cannot pick an individual bay. Electric cars charge in the terminal garages, and guests with a recognised disability parking permit qualify for reduced rates.

The cheapest way to park at Vienna Airport

If price is the deciding factor, the order at VIE is consistent: the open-air long-term car parks Parking C and Parking D are the cheapest on site at around 18 euro a day, roughly 62 euro for a week. They are a short distance from the terminals and served by a free 24-hour shuttle bus, so the trade-off is a few extra minutes rather than any real inconvenience. Next up is the covered economy Garage 8, which costs more but puts you within walking distance. The terminal-side garages 3 and 4 are the most expensive and only worth it for short stays or when you are running late.

Two further savings are easy to miss. Booking online in advance is cheaper than the walk-up tariff on every car park, and it guarantees you a space on busy summer weekends – you simply cannot pick an individual bay. And for a stay of only a few hours, the garages’ hourly rates beat a daily ticket, while genuinely brief drop-offs belong in the Kiss & Fly zone, where the first ten minutes are free.

Booking online vs paying at the barrier

Vienna Airport sells parking through its own online shop, and the online tariff is set below the walk-up price for the same car park – this is the single easiest way to cut the cost of parking at VIE. You choose the car park and your arrival and departure dates, pay in advance, and enter using the booking confirmation or automatic licence-plate recognition. What you are buying is a guaranteed place in that car park, not a specific numbered bay.

Paying at the barrier is still perfectly workable for short or unplanned stays, and every car park takes cards at the pay machines. The walk-up rates in the table above are the ones you pay in that case. For a week or more, the gap between the online and the walk-up price is large enough that booking ahead is almost always the right call. Rates change, so treat the figures here as a guide and confirm on the official price list before you travel.

Getting to the car parks

Vienna International Airport lies southeast of the city at Schwechat, about 18 km from the centre, and is reached by road from Vienna on the A4 Ostautobahn, with the car parks signposted from the airport exit. Allow around half an hour from central Vienna outside rush hour, and more on weekday mornings. The sat-nav address for the airport is 1300 Wien-Flughafen. Once on the airport road the individual car parks – the numbered garages, the long-term Parking C and D, and the Kiss & Fly zone – are signposted separately, so it pays to know which one you booked before you arrive.
